An Electric Van Can Leave Sports Cars in the Dust

If we told you an electric van could beat a Dodge Viper, Ferrari California T and a Tesla Model S in a drag race, you’d probably laugh and not believe us. But... it’s true.

Edna Takes on the Motor Giants

A new electric van by start-up Atieva has humiliated a number of sports cars on the track. The Mercedes-Benz Metris, named Edna, is being used as a powertrain development vehicle. It has two electric motors with a combined 900 horsepower and an 87kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

Engineers are still fine-tuning the van, but it can currently do 0 to 60mph in 2.94 seconds and drive more than 100miles before it needs charging.

Would You Purchase a Speedy Electric Van?

Edna is still in development at the moment, however Atieva plans to create a production model in the near future. Though the details are few and far between at the moment.

When it does become available, could you be tempted by an electric trade vehicle?

Well, whether electric, petrol or diesel, you need to insure your van. In order to keep costs down and ensure you get the best value-for-money possible, compare van insurance online here to find the best deal for you.
